We’re excited to welcome a new medium to The Orchid! Join us Saturday, October 24 from 4–7pm for a beginner-friendly introduction to stained glass with multimedia artist Jen Maddox.
For our very first glass workshop, we’ll be creating this beautiful 6 × 5.5 inch setting sun stained glass panel, featuring warm amber, gold, and textured glass radiating out from the horizon. Your glass pieces will come pre-cut, allowing us to spend the workshop learning two essential stained glass techniques: copper foiling and soldering. No previous experience is needed! This is a fun, approachable introduction for anyone who has been curious about stained glass and wants to get a feel for the process.
Meet your instructor: Jen Maddox is a multimedia artist whose practice primarily centers around glass. She has spent the past several years teaching creative workshops and sharing her craft with others, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to The Orchid as she begins offering workshops here in Warrenton.
